April is here and Easter is just around the corner. The days are getting longer, temperatures are rising and many of us would now like to go traveling for a few days.
I assume most of us have – more or less voluntarily – changed plans and will spend Easter at home or at best with our families.
Our April tastings, too, have fallen victim to the current situation – it remains to be seen whether we can hold our May tastings as planned; we will inform you as soon as we learn more. Rest assured that we will handle your tasting reservations with the utmost goodwill. If you wish to cancel your reservation or change it to a later date, please contact us a few days before a booked tasting.
With working from home, children studying and playing at home and our daily routines turned upside down, we should all reserve some time for happy habits and relaxation. What could be better suited than a great dram.
Given the postponed April tastings, I am offering you five different drams in this newsletter – plus a tasting package of 5 x 5cl, which of course includes the usual tasting sheet with all the details in your language and English; priority shipping is included for all of this so that you can get started right away.
When making my selection, I focused on offering you a great variety of taste experiences. We start with a whisky from the sweet and spicy category: 35.249: Herbal tea and hot cross buns, classically aged in a 1st Fill ex-Bourbon Barrel. This is followed by 52.31: I dream of creamy, from the category juicy, oak and vanilla, whose final cask was an ex-Sauternes Barrique. The two middle ones are from Speyside: 30.109: Strangely soothing, 12 years in a 1st Fill ex-Sherry Butt and 63.60: Archaeopteryx paella, 5 years in an ex-Oloroso Butt before being moved to its final cask, a 2nd Fill ex-PX Butt; accordingly, for both, the aroma profile is deep, rich and dried fruits. A peated whisky rounds off the selection: 53.317: Burial at sea from a Refill ex-Bourbon Hogshead.
I hope these will help you through this strange and almost surreal time. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, wishes or other concerns. I am happy to serve you as usual!
Very best wishes
