Whisky with expert noses

Welcome to the year 2025 – we are delighted to present you with our latest Outturn. As you can see, it has been given a slight design lift. I hope you like it. Of course, it’s not about design, but above all about content. And this is also impressive!

The second series of the Creators Collection, entitled “Homecoming”, brings together three whiskies from 20 to 32 years old. The labels are adorned with creations by artist Shona Hardie, who was inspired by the Society’s spiritual home, The Vaults in Leith.

The two new small batches are more adventurous. Batch 25 comes from a Lowland distillery. The special thing about it is the yeast used, called DY502, and the specific short cut during distillation – this is the only way to capture very specific flavours.

Batch 28 was matured in very special stout beer barrels. Wasted Degrees Craft Brewery flavouredone of its Original Stout Ale with hand-collected spruce saplings in oak barrels. These came to the Society in November 2022, which matured this whisky in them for 21 months.

In addition to the dates for our tastings in March and May, you also have the opportunity to visit us on the whisky ship in Lucerne. From 27 to 29 March, we will once again be running our “members only” lounge on the MS Waldstätter. Olaf Meier will be there again this year.

Olaf will be holding a tasting on Friday 28 March at 5.30pm – this is primarily aimed at whisky lovers who want to get to know the Society. But of course it will also be a pleasure for existing members to see Olaf in action.

If you can’t find what you’re looking for among the new products, then be sure to visit our online shop. I am convinced that you will find something to your taste among the other 100 bottlings of all twelve flavour profiles and in all price ranges. If you have any questions, I will be happy to advise you.

Have fun discovering and best regards
